Nelida Machicote, LICSW is the Clinical Director of Promises Outpatient Services in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she has been employed for the past eight years. A seasoned therapist, faith-based leader, and dedicated community advocate, Nelida brings decades of experience spanning clinical, educational, and ministry settings. She specializes in the treatment of co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders and is deeply committed to serving underserved and marginalized populations. Nelida provides outpatient therapy to individuals and groups, integrating evidence-based clinical modalities with faith-informed principles to promote holistic healing. Her work is grounded in compassion, cultural humility, and spiritual integrity, empowering clients to reclaim their narratives, build resilience, and develop healthier relationships with themselves, their families, and their communities. Her areas of clinical expertise include supporting individuals and groups experiencing anxiety, depression, anger management challenges, low self-esteem, domestic violence, and substance use recovery, among other complex behavioral health concerns. In addition to her clinical leadership, Nelida has held prominent administrative, supervisory, and executive roles, including serving as Vice President within organizational settings. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Worcester State College and her Master of Social Work degree from Springfield College. Nelida currently serves as President of Net of Compassion, Inc., a homeless outreach ministry she has been affiliated with for over 15 years. She is also a published author, with her work titled The Importance of Allowing for a Spiritual Component in Clinical Strategies issued by Springfield College in November 2020.
